In the bleak mid-winter Frosty wind made moan Earth stood hard as iron Water like a stone Snow had fallen, snow on snow Snow on snow In the bleak mid-winter Long ago Angels and Archangels May have gathered there Cherubim and seraphim Thronged the air But only His Mother In her maiden bliss Worshipped the Beloved With a kiss What can I give Him, Poor as I am? If I were a Shepherd I would bring a lamb If I were a Wise Man I would do my part Yet what I can I give Him Give my heart

Have yourself a merry little Christmas Let your heart be light From now on Our troubles will be out of sight Have yourself a merry little Christmas Make the Yule-tide gay From now on Our troubles will be miles away Here we are as in olden days Happy golden days of yore Faithful friends who are dear to us Gather near to us once more Through the years we all will be together If the fates allow Hang a shining star upon the highest bough And have yourself a merry little Christmas now Here we are as in olden days Happy golden days of yore Faithfull friends who are dear to us Gather near to us once more Through the years we all will be together If the fates allow So hang a shining star upon the highest bough And have yourself a merry little Christmas now

It came upon a midnight clear, That glorious song of old, From angels bending near the earth, To touch their harps of gold: "Peace on the earth, goodwill to men, From heaven's all-gracious King" The world in solemn stillness lay, To hear the angels sing Yet with the woes of sin and strife The world has suffered long; Beneath the angel-strain have rolled Two thousand years of wrong; And man, at war with man, hears not The love-song which they bring; O hush the noise, ye men of strife, And hear the angels sing. For lo!, the days are hastening on, By prophet bards foretold, When with the ever-circling years Comes round the age of gold When peace shall over all the earth Its ancient splendors fling, And the whole world give back the song Which now the angels sing

Once bitten and twice shy I keep my distance, but you still catch my eye Tell me baby, do you recognize me? It's been a year, it doesn't surprise me "Merry Christmas" I wrapped it up and sent it With a note saying "I love you," I meant it Now I know what a fool I've been But if you kissed me now, I know you'd fool me again Last Christmas I gave you my heart But the very next day you gave it away This year, to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special Last Christmas I gave you my heart But the very next day you gave it away This year, to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special A crowded room, friends with tired eyes I'm hiding from you and your soul of ice My God, I thought you were someone to rely on Me? I guess I was a shoulder to cry on A face on a lover with a fire in his heart A man under cover but you tore me apart Ooh, ooh, now I've found a real love You'll never fool me again Last Christmas I gave you my heart But the very next day you gave it away This year, to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special Last Christmas I gave you my heart But the very next day you gave it away This year, to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special

about

a short little collection of christmas songs, inspired by my cousin nancy, who brought the gilbert family together last year for christmas carols and also taught me what is now my favorite carol, "in the bleak midwinter"

please consider paying for the album, however much you can spare; all money will go towards paying the artists who contributed such beautiful music and hopefully provided you some joy and comfort this holiday season :-)
